Received the “Best Video Creator” Award at the First Karnataka Tourism Awards Function
Srihari Karanth has been honoured with the Best Video Creator Award at the first-ever Karnataka Tourism Awards 2026, recognising his contribution to showcasing Karnataka through video and aerial storytelling.
The award was presented to Srihari Karanth by Hon’ble Tourism Minister Shri K. J. George at the inaugural Karnataka Tourism Awards ceremony held at Anantya Palace Grounds, Bengaluru, on World Tourism Day, September 27, 2026.
The ceremony was attended by Karnataka Chief Minister Shri D. K. Shivakumar, Deputy Chief Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara, Tourism Minister Shri K. J. George, Tourism Department Secretary Dr. Ram Prasath Manohar and other senior officials and tourism industry representatives. Guinness World Record Events
Srihari has been involved in two major Guinness World Record events.
Mysuru Dasara – 2,983-Drone Guinness World Record
During Mysuru Dasara 2025, Srihari captured aerial footage of the spectacular drone show in which 2,983 drones formed a giant tiger in the sky.
The formation established the Guinness World Record for the largest aerial image of a mammal formed by multirotor drones. The record was achieved in Mysuru on September 28, 2025.
Srihari’s footage of the show was widely shared and subsequently featured by multiple media organizations.
3,473 Drones Create Guinness World Record at Mysuru Dasara 2026
Mysuru Dasara 2026 witnessed history on 18 October 2026 when 3,473 drones formed a giant peacock in the night sky, setting a Guinness World Record for the largest aerial display of a bird formed by multirotor drones.
Organised by CESC and performed by BotLab Dynamics, the spectacular drone show took place at Bannimantap, Mysuru, showcasing India’s technological capabilities and cultural heritage.
Srihari Karanth, a Bengaluru-based drone pilot and aerial cinematographer, was part of this historic event and captured the spectacular drone formations on video. The footage showcases the magnificent peacock formation created by thousands of synchronised drones.
This achievement follows the 2025 Mysuru Dasara drone show, which featured 2,983 drones forming a jumping tiger. The 2026 edition added another remarkable milestone to Mysuru Dasara’s history.
Indian Army – Two Motorcycle World Records
Srihari was also present at an Indian Army Service Corps motorcycle team event where two world records were achieved.
Havildar Manish set the record for the longest basic hands-free wheelie, travelling 2.349 kilometres.
At the same event, Sepoy Sumit Tomar set a new record for the longest no-hands wheelie, achieving a distance of 1,715.4 metres.
Srihari captured aerial and visual footage of the record-breaking performances.
Four Namma Metro Trains in One Frame
One of Srihari’s most widely reported Bengaluru photographs captured four Namma Metro trains in a single frame at the RV Road interchange.
The aerial footage showed two Yellow Line and two Green Line trains travelling through the intersecting Metro corridors simultaneously. Srihari waited for approximately two hours to capture the rare moment.
The photograph and video were subsequently covered by The Times of India, Hindustan Times, Bangalore Mirror and other media platforms.
Bengaluru Diwali Video Praised by Nirmala Sitharaman
Srihari’s Bengaluru Diwali aerial video captured approximately one hour of fireworks and lights across the city and condensed them into a one-minute cinematic sequence.
The video attracted widespread attention and was publicly praised by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, who described the work as artistic and appreciated the effort.

Government Collaboration — Gruha Lakshmi Anniversary
Srihari Karanth collaborated with the Government of Karnataka to capture aerial visuals of Vidhana Soudha illuminated in pink to mark the third anniversary of the Gruha Lakshmi scheme. The footage was featured in an official Instagram collaboration with Karnataka Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar on August 30, 2026, as part of the government’s commemoration of the scheme’s milestone.
The project was particularly significant because Srihari was granted permission to conduct a drone flight from the entrance steps of Vidhana Soudha itself, capturing perspectives that are rarely accessible to the public. Vidhana Soudha is a high-security government complex with strict restrictions on unauthorised drone operations, making an authorised flight from within the premises an exceptional opportunity. The resulting aerial footage showcased the iconic landmark glowing pink against Bengaluru’s night skyline and was published directly through the Chief Minister’s official social-media collaboration, giving the work a prominent government platform.
